For passengers heading to Schwabing (the northern part of Munich) the bus also stops at “Nordfriedhof” where there is a convenient connection to the U-Bahn.
Travel times are 45 minutes between the airport and the city center, and 30 minutes between the airport and Schwabing.

Tickets are purchased on the bus. In order to find the bus at the airport simply follow the "bus" signs that are hard to miss. If a taxi is needed once in the city, inform the bus driver and he will phone ahead for you.
MUNICH PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Munich’s public transport system is excellent, it is fast, safe, clean and extremely reliable. Options include the U-Bahn (underground), S-Bahn (urban railway), buses and trams. Taxi's are also readily available at the airport and downtown. For those who want to cruise the autobahn, a US drivers license is sufficient to rent a car.
Tickets for public transport can be purchased from ticket machines, at ticket offices at underground and urban railway stations, and from bus and tram drivers. Make sure to have enough small change.
There are single and multiple-ride tickets. The fare depends on the number of zones. Within the city boundaries, and therefore when traveling to the New Munich Trade Fair Center, you must stamp 2 stripes of the multiple-ride ticket at the machines provided.
At the airport, the “S1” and “S8” run directly to the city center and the main train station (“Hauptbahnhof”), where you can change trains to virtually all subway lines. Subway lines “U2” and “U7” lead directly to the Munich Trade Fair Center (“Messestadt West” and “East)”, with stops at the West and the East end of the exhibit area. Check your show hall plan to see which stop would be most convenient for you. Also located near the subway stops in the Trade Fair Center are check-in counters for Lufthansa airlines.
